While visiting the Zhongnanhai State Hotel in Beijing with US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping recalled that in 2024 he had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the same place.
According to a report by The New York Times (NYT), during an informal conversation, Trump asked Xi whether he often hosts foreign leaders at his residence.
"Very rarely," answered the Chinese leader. However, he reminded that the Russian leader also visited the residence in 2024. The US leader visited China on May 13-15.
