The US has deployed about 80,000 troops in Europe, but the size and structure of this troop is constantly being adjusted in accordance with changes in the international situation, the spokesperson of the US European Command (EUCOM) told TASS.
"Currently, approximately 80,000 US troops are deployed in the European theater of operations. About 38,000 of them are permanently and rotationally stationed in Germany," the EUCOM spokesperson said. He detailed that in Germany these forces are located "in places such as Wiesbaden, Rhine-Palatinate, Stuttgart and Bavaria".
“This number fluctuates constantly, almost on a monthly basis. These variations are due to planned exercises and the rotation of forces in the theater. We constantly review and adjust the structure and size of our forces and assets as circumstances change, using a combination of permanent and temporary forces as leverage," the EUCOM spokesperson emphasized.
