US Democratic Senator Adam Schiff published a post on his Facebook page on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
"Today, Armenian communities around the world celebrate the 111th anniversary of the systematic murder and deportation of 1.5 million Armenian women, men and children by the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1923. More than a century later, we reaffirm that their efforts to destroy the Armenian people have failed, and we dedicate ourselves to preserving their memory.
In 2019, I had the honor of authoring the resolution that officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, and which was passed by an almost unanimous bipartisan vote. These historic achievements were made possible by the tenacious and united Armenian community and the Diaspora, thanks to their decades of work.
As I have become convinced over the years, representing the region, and now also the state, which has the largest Armenian population in the country, Armenians remain strong and steadfast. I will continue to support Armenians throughout the state and in the world in their struggle for justice," wrote Adam Schiff.
