US President Donald Trump, in conversations with a select group of advisers, expressed the opinion that his administration's policy on illegal immigrants, including their deportation, should be reviewed.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources. According to sources, the US leader has instructed his aides to develop a new approach to the problem of illegal immigration, noting in particular that US citizens do not like the term "mass deportation".
Therefore, the head of the White House believes that it is necessary to focus on arresting the "bad guys" and avoid causing chaos in cities when making arrests, the WSJ reported.
Trump's close circle believes that the turning point in this matter was the resignation of Christy Noem from the position of US Secretary of Internal Security, the newspaper notes.
According to the newspaper, the US president repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the US administration led by Noem was actively criticized in the press.
