The Hungarian government will not support EU decisions favoring Ukraine until Kiev stops its attempts to provoke an energy crisis in Hungary. This is stated in the letter of the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban to the President of the European Council, Antonio Košta.
The EU leader previously expressed concern over Hungary's decision to block a €90 billion EU "war loan" to Ukraine over its refusal to resume Russian oil supplies through the Druzhba pipeline.
Budapest believes that Kiev is acting solely for political reasons, trying to undermine the current Hungarian government. "The facts are undeniable. There are no technical obstacles to resuming oil supplies to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline. All that is required is a political decision of Ukraine," Orban wrote, publishing a photocopy of the letter in Budapest.
