Harutyun Harutyunyan, the representative of the Armenian skiing sport, finished his competitions at the 25th Winter Olympic Games held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The last start of the Armenian athlete was in the slalom competition, where, unfortunately, he did not manage to take a place in the final record. After the first landing, Harutyunyan showed a time of 1:10.12 and was in 37th place. However, crucially, in the second attempt, he committed a violation on the race track, due to which he was disqualified and left the competition.
The competition day turned out to be quite difficult for the world stars as well. 57 alpine skiers failed to cross the finish line or were disqualified. Among them were the Olympic champion in the giant slalom, Lucas Pinheiro Broten of Brazil, and the leader of the first attempt, Atle Lee McGart of Norway. As a result, only 39 athletes took a place in the calculation.
Swiss Loic Meyer won the title of Olympic champion. The Austrian Fabio Gstrain stood on the second step of the podium, and the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen completed the top three.
Let's remind that earlier, on February 14, Harutyun Harutyunyan also took part in the giant winding page, where he took the 59th place among 81 participants. Thus, after skiers Katya Galstyan and Mikayel Mikayelyan, she also finished the Olympic fight.
Armenia still has representatives in the Winter Games. Figure skaters Karina Akopova - Nikita Rakhmanin will perform a free program today, February 16. According to the results of the short program, they are in 12th place.
