The United States is "very seriously" considering the possibility of supplying Turkey with fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets, US President Donald Trump said at a joint press conference after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The US leader was asked whether Washington would sell F-35s to Ankara. "We are thinking about it very seriously," The Times of Israel quoted Trump as saying.
The head of the White House also expressed confidence that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not use these fighter jets against Israel under any circumstances.
