Armenia voted in favor of the Palestinian resolution on the right to self-determination and the creation of an independent state

The Palestinian people's right to self-determination, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, was reaffirmed by a resolution passed by the UN General Assembly. The document was put to the vote and received wide support from the international community.

The draft resolution entitled "The Right to Self-Determination of the Palestinian People" was prepared by seven states. The document was submitted for consideration by the UN General Assembly.

164 states voted in favor of the resolution, including Armenia. Eight countries, including Israel and the United States, voted against. Nine more countries abstained.

The text of the resolution emphasizes the right of all states of the region to safe existence and peaceful coexistence within internationally recognized borders.

At the same time, the document reaffirms the Palestinian people's right to self-determination, which includes the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
