The United States is trying to organize a war and a change of power in Venezuela in order to take over the country's natural resources, announced the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro.
"They tried to organize a war against Venezuela, a coup d'état and the theft of our huge oil and gas reserves.
"If Venezuela didn't have oil, gas, gold, water, millions of hectares of fertile land and a strategic geographic location, maybe no one would even talk about us," Maduro said, speaking at the closing of the Greater Caribbean Parliamentary Forum in Caracas.
The head of state added that the people of the republic "regained themselves" and were able to withstand the "dark wave of threats" of recent months.
