High technology and educational reforms on the agenda of the Armenian-Bulgarian cooperation


On September 23, the Minister of High Technological Industry of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan hosted a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Atanas Zafirov. During the meeting, the parties highly assessed the development and partnership cooperation between the two countries.

Welcoming the members of the delegation, Minister Hayrapetyan attached importance to the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Zafirov to Armenia, noting that it contributes to the deepening of cooperation in the atmosphere of mutual trust between the two countries. In his speech, the Minister presented Armenia's engineering and technological potential, the reform programs, the implemented reforms and educational initiatives aimed at the development of the technological potential, "Armat" engineering laboratories, "Sevan Startup Sammith". Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stressed the progress made in the field of engineering programs implemented by the government.

Deputy Prime Minister Zafirov, in his turn, praised the possibilities of expanding cooperation with Armenia, emphasizing the potential in the fields of technological and educational spheres. He shared his impressions of his visit to Armenia, presenting the results of the meetings with the members of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the visit to Tumo as a clear example of the strategic steps taken to form the technological generation.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possible directions of cooperation, the expansion of the involvement of Bulgarian technology companies, as well as the deepening partnership in the direction of the defense industry, green technology and space technologies. The possibilities of Armenia's participation in infrastructure projects in the Black Sea region were also discussed.

Summing up the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of organizing mutual visits, as well as the prospects of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation within the European Union.
