Russia and Ukraine have exchanged captives. Moscow has returned to Kiev 84 servicemen and received the same from Ukraine.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, servicemen are currently in Belarus.
The UAE performed as a mediator in the exchange process.
In recent months, Russia and Ukraine have conducted a process of exchanging prisoners in several stages, most of which have implemented the parties on the basis of Istanbul agreements. Moscow and Kiev have completed the implementation of these agreements in July.
After the third round of talks between Russia and Ukraine, the head of the Russian Negotiation Group Vladimir Medinsky stated this on the proposal of the Russian side, to start a new exchange, and at least 1.2 thousand captives on each side.
The agreement was confirmed by the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem.
Russia has also expressed readiness to transfer 3,000 of Ukrainian soldiers.
