The Union of European Broadcasters and the Public Television of Armenia inform that in 2026 the "Classical Eurovision of Youth Musicians" contest will take place in Armenia.
The classical music competition is intended for young people aged 12 to 21 years.
Hovhannes Movsisyan, executive director of the public television company, says: "It is a great honor for us to host this very format of Eurovision - the "Classic Eurovision Song Contest for Young Musicians" in Armenia. The public television company and the European Union of Broadcasters will spare no effort to make Armenia the center of classical music in 2026. We will gladly welcome talented young musicians to our country."
Ruler Narek Kazazyan represented Armenia in this competition for the first time in 2012. We had the next participation 12 years later, in 2024. Armenia was represented by oboist Hayk Hekekyan. The "Classical Eurovision for Junior Musicians" contest is held every two years since 1982. In 2026, Armenia will be the host country of the competition.
"The classic Eurovision Song Contest is a wonderful platform for talent and creativity, bringing people together through music," said Jean-Philippe de Tender, Media Director and Deputy Director-General of the European Broadcasting Union.
He notes that they are happy that Armenia is the host country of 2026 and look forward to joint work within the framework of this great event.
Other details related to the event will be announced in advance of the competition.
