In the south of Lebanon, today the United Nations peacekeepers have been attacked by a group of civilians who were armed with metal rods and axes. Unifil said cars were damaged by the attack, but there were no affected people. The attack took place between Jmejme and Khirbat Silim during the patrol.
UN peacekeepers have applied non-fatal defense measures to ensure the safety of themselves. The Lebanese Armed Forces have been informed about the incident and soon accompanied the patrol until the base. According to Unifil, the operation was agreed with the Lebanese Armed Forces.
At the same time, this incident was preceded by another tension. On Tuesday, the fire of the Israeli army touched the UN position. This was the first such case after the established ceasefire between Israel and Hidbollah in November, Reuters reports.
