The cessation of the Armed Forces of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the Turkish state will contribute to the stability of the entire region. The statement came from Assad Al-Shebyan, head of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Turkish and Jordanian Foreign Ministers Hakan Fidan, As-Safadi, the head of the Syrian Transitional Government.
"I would like to congratulate Turkey on the ceasefire announced today with the PKK today, it will contribute to the stability of the entire region," said the Syrian Foreign Minister.
Earlier, the PKK held a congress and decided to scatter and stop the armed struggle after a 47-year confrontation with Turkey. The statement said that a well-known terrorist party in Turkey is now moving towards democratic and political methods of the struggle.
At the end of February, PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan, who was imprisoned in Turkey, called on all the parties to the party to stop the conflict with Ankara and dissolved the PKK.
