Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not leave for Moscow to take part in the events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory. This was reported by Russian President's Assistant Yuri Ushakov.
"We received a message that Aliyev would not arrive. They explained that he had to take part in the internal events dedicated to Heydar Aliyev, "the diplomat said.
May 10 is Heydar Ali's birthday, who died in 2003.
The last visit of Ilham Aliyev to Russia took place in the fall of 2024. On October 8, he arrived in Moscow to hold talks with Vladimir Putin.
