Religious celebration in India's Western Goa has ended a tragic end. At least 6 people have been killed in a crowd pressure during the pilgrimage organized by tens of thousands of pilgrims, about 80 others, Al-Jazeera reports.
The incident took place near the temple in the village of Shirgao during the flow of people on narrow and mountainous roads. According to some evidence, a group of people slipped, as a result of which there was a mass decline.
The Goa authorities have confirmed that the five wounded are in critical condition. Prime Minister Modi and high-ranking officials of the region have expressed condolences to the families of the victims. Emergency departments have been created in local hospitals to serve the wounded.
