For comparison, the import of electricity from Azerbaijan amounted to 185.97 million kWh (weight in the structure of imports - 15%).
It is noteworthy that the share of electricity imports in Georgia still belongs to Russia.
The latter provided 79% of it in 2024 or 968.84 million kWh.
Electricity consumption in Georgia is constantly growing. Until 2030 The country can lead to a serious shortcoming, as the demand for electricity will increase by about 73%, reaching 22 billion kWh.
In addition to the expansion of internal capacities, Georgia will inevitably increase electricity imports.
Today, however, the process of implementing the program is almost paralyzed.
