According to the Prime Minister, a revolution took place in 2018 so that "we can all fulfill our tax obligations in a transparent manner."

“61.7 percent of those engaged in buying and selling, paying turnover tax, show an annual turnover of up to 10 million drams, which means that they trade for 27 thousand drams per day. During the whole year, they pay 500 thousand drams in tax.”

Today, on February 12, during a question-and-answer session with the government, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this, referring to the tax changes that came into force on January 1, 2025.

“We have reduced taxes, we said that when a citizen documents his turnover in a formal manner, taxes decrease, they become 1 percent,” Pashinyan emphasized.

He noted that the government is ready to take all possible measures so that citizens work in the legal domain.

Pashinyan said that the results will be observed a few months after the launch of the newly introduced system.

“The turnover tax system does not create motivation for business to grow. If we go and see the statistics and see that our calculation is wrong, we will not hesitate to admit our mistake.

But when they say without argument that this is the right thing, I think that is not the right conversation. And when they say that they are not giving us a document, who is not giving it, we want to understand who is not giving it. We are ready to go after those who are not giving that document,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

According to the Prime Minister, a revolution took place in 2018 so that “we all fulfill our tax obligations in a transparent manner.”
