The district court of Magdeburg in Germany has ordered the arrest of a man suspected of running over visitors to the Christmas fair in the city of the same name.

"The Magdeburg Prosecutor's Office requested an arrest warrant for murder and attempted multiple murder, which was issued by the Magdeburg District Court. The judge ordered preliminary arrest for five counts of attempted murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm," the publication said.
Earlier, at the Magdeburg Christmas fair, the car crashed into the crowd.
According to the local police, four women died as a result, and according to Rainer Haselof, the Prime Minister of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, five people were killed and more than 200 were injured as a result of the attack.
The police suspect a 50-year-old man who acted alone in the crash.
