The efforts of the military and political leadership of Artsakh to return the Armenian prisoners of war who have been kept in Baku for more than a year to their homeland are not yielding results. The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan sentenced 3 people to 15 years in prison: Vagif Khachatryan, Rashid Beglaryan and Madat Babayan, who were kidnapped from Hakar Bridge.
There is no news yet from the trial of the others.MediaHubestablished contact with Tigran, the son of former Artsakh Foreign Minister Davit Babayan. The latter informed us that nothing is known about the trial so far.
"Once the case was brought to the court, then it was taken back. Yesterday my father called from Baku.
Everything is the same with him, he said that the case has reached the court again, and now we are waiting for the process. We do not lose hope that my father will be acquitted and return to us," said Tigran Babayan.
The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan published the names of Arkady Ghukasyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, Bako Sahakyan, Davit Ishkhanyan, Davit Babayan, Lyova Mnatsakanyan, Davit Manukyan, Garik Martirosyan, Melikset Pashayan, Gurgen Stepanyan, Levon Balayan, Davit Alaverdyan, Vasiliy Beglaryan and Erik Ghazaryan.
Ruben Vardanyan's name was missing from the published list.
Recently, it became known that Baku has brought new charges against Ruben Vardanyan in order to sentence him to life imprisonment.
Those charges and the entire court process are being kept under wraps.
