The new Prime Minister of France, Francois Bayrou, threatened President Emmanuel Macron

The new Prime Minister of France Francois Bayrou has threatened President Emmanuel Macron that he will deprive his faction of centrist support in the parliament if he is not appointed to the position of the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The politician said this in an interview with Tribune Dimanche, Gazeta.ru reports.

"If I am not there, it will happen without me," said the Prime Minister.

Bairu is convinced that "he would not have been appointed if the situation was not hopeless".

The Prime Minister claims that Macron could have appointed French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorne to that position. However, after the negotiations in the Elysée Palace, the French President called the head of the Ministry of Defense and informed that that position will be given to Bayrou.

Bayrou was appointed Prime Minister of France on December 13.

He is 73 years old. The politician heads the "Democratic Movement" (Modem) party.
