Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati on Independence Day.
"I warmly congratulate you and the friendly people of Lebanon on the occasion of Independence Day. The relations between Armenia and Lebanon are based on centuries-old friendship, mutually beneficial cooperation and mutual respect, which best characterizes the current level of political relations between Armenia and Lebanon.
We are deeply concerned and worried about the worsening security situation in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon, and we consider the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure unacceptable.
The Republic of Armenia supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of the borders of Lebanon and, through the active participation of the Armenian peacekeeping force, contributes to the strengthening of Lebanon's security.
In this difficult time for Lebanon, I wish you good health, strength and courage in your efforts to face the challenges and bring the country to a peaceful destination."
