US forces have struck three Iranian oil tankers. The strikes followed ballistic missiles fired by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) at two US Navy ships in the region.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said a US aircraft carrier and a guided-missile destroyer had evaded several attacks. The US said no crew members were injured.
US forces then struck Iranian oil tankers. One of the ships was destroyed in the Gulf of Oman after the crew was ordered to abandon it.
Other tankers were hit near Kharg Island and Jask.
