The rescuer stands next to the citizen, and the state today bears the same responsibility as the rescuer. Message from the Minister of Internal Affairs

Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan sent a message on the occasion of Rescuer's Day.

The message reads:

"I am grateful for every life saved.

Dear employees of the Rescue Service,

I congratulate you on the professional holiday - Rescuer's Day.

Being a rescuer is a calling that requires professionalism, dedication and willingness to risk one's own life for the sake of another life.

A rescuer stands by the citizen in any situation, enjoying high public trust, and the state today stands by the rescuer with the same responsibility.

This logic is the basis of the reforms of the Rescue Service. For us, reform is not just a structural or institutional change. Our goal is to have a modern, technically equipped and professional service, where the work of the employee is appreciated, decent remuneration, social guarantees and safe working conditions are provided.

The ongoing attestation process is one of the important components of this policy. We want to have a system where knowledge, preparation and good work are not only required, but also appreciated through professional advancement, high remuneration, and social guarantees. And today hundreds of rescuers already receive decent remuneration.

We are also continuing the large-scale technical re-equipment of the Rescue Service. Rescue units are being equipped with new fire-rescue and rapid response vehicles, modern special equipment, rescue tools and new equipment. This work will be ongoing.

The working conditions of the employees are also improving. Recently, new and improved infrastructures have been put into operation, and in the coming days, the newly built administrative complex of the Yeghegnadzor Fire and Rescue Department will also be put into operation, creating modern and proper service conditions.

At the same time, we will continue to develop early response, prevention, civil protection and crisis management capabilities, introduce new technologies and procedures, and improve the quality of professional education and training.

Dear rescuers,

I thank you for your courage, difficult and responsible service, for every saved life and for your willingness to reach out to every citizen in need of help.

I also express special gratitude to your families, who share with you the responsibility, anxiety and burden of this service.

I congratulate you again on the occasion of Rescuer's Day.

I wish you health, safe service and professional progress, continuing to excel first and foremost yourself every day."
