Ukraine's defense forces hit an enterprise in the Penza region that, among other things, produces sensors for cruise and ballistic missiles, components of aviation systems and equipment for space reconnaissance satellites, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced.
The Ukrainian side called the facility "a leading Russian enterprise in the field of space, aviation and military equipment construction", which is part of the "Russian Space Systems" holding, which is a constituent part of the state corporation "Roscosmos". The extent of the damage is being determined, the Ukrainian Armed Forces added.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, called the damaged enterprise a strategic object of the Russian military-industrial complex, which is engaged in the development and production of components of missile weapons, "which the Russians use to attack Ukrainian cities and communities." Zelensky also noted that the distance of the target was about 600 km from the front line.
The local authorities confirmed the fact of the attack, and also noted that there were no casualties or injuries in the damaged object.
