The situation around the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program will be the main topics of indirect talks between the delegations of the US and Iran in Doha, said Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari, the spokesman of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is, of course, one of the main topics of the ongoing negotiations. However, this is not the only controversial issue. there are also other issues, including the nuclear program and the regional situation in general," the diplomat said during the briefing.
Al-Ansari emphasized that Doha's position remains unchanged and is focused on the need to ensure unhindered navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which has an international status.
US President's special envoy Steve Wittkoff and entrepreneur Jared Kushner will discuss regional issues with mediators in Qatar. direct contacts between the American and Iranian delegations are not planned, al-Ansari announced.
