RPA Vice President Armen Ashotyan writes on his Facebook page:
"I have no right to reveal the source, but the information is almost 100% true.
According to that source, the Armenian government hired a Western lobbying agency to discredit the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and its leader His Holiness All Armenians in the European press, to carry out counter-propaganda.
The main thesis of anti-propaganda is the myth of being an "agent of the Kremlin", which in the current geopolitical situation can be an effective blow aimed at devaluing and discrediting the church in Western circles.
Theses that the church is hindering the so-called "peace process" and Armenia's geopolitical turn will be pushed in parallel.
The main goal of the anti-propaganda is to "legitimize" Pashinyan's actions against the church, creating a basis for self-interested turning a blind eye to the unconstitutionality and illegality of those steps.
In fact, the current regime has not only turned the country into a trench of geopolitical struggle, but also involves the unique spiritual structure of the nation in this adventure.
It is not difficult to imagine its destructive consequences in all the countries where the church has structures...".
