"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
RA Prosecutor General's Office on handing former Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan over to RA authorities in 2025. on December 17, he sent a petition to the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.
General Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan announced during the hearing in the National Assembly on November 18 that the prosecutor's office will apply to Russia to extradite Kostanyan and Vahagn Harutyunyan, the former head of the investigative team in the March 1 case, to be brought to Armenia and tried.
According to the accusation, Vahagn Harutyunyan misrepresented the participation of the Armed Forces in the events of March 1, 2008, thereby assisting "the concealment of a particularly serious crime and official falsification by the representative of the Armenian government at the European Court of Human Rights, Gevorg Kostanyan." In the case of March 1, the statute of limitations has passed, the trial has ended, but the General Prosecutor's Office continues to prosecute the representatives of the former government.
We were interested in what the Russian Prosecutor's Office answered. The RA General Prosecutor's Office answered us that "if they have information, they will inform us." In other words, there is no response from Russia.
