Moreover, the falsification of the results of only a few precincts by the CEC, which was announced yesterday by the representatives of that party, is already an indicator of what scandals could have been done during the post-election night and how the numbers could change. Yesterday, the leader of the "Armenia" bloc, the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, made a statement, stating that they will dispute the results of the elections.
He noted that "these elections were held under conditions of widespread government pressure, arrests of oppositionists, unprecedented use of administrative resources and election violations." It is expected that "Strong Armenia", to put it mildly, will not be reconciled with the results, especially since the representative of the party has already stated that "the published figures cannot reflect the real picture and be understood without a deep study and legal and political evaluation". He also reminded that "throughout the election process, the "Strong Armenia" alliance operated under the conditions of unprecedented and massive pressures and persecutions organized by the government system." The "Wings of Unity" party categorically rejects the announced results of the elections and considers them illegal, which do not reflect the true will of the citizens of Armenia. "We are initiating a process of recounting the voting results. We are discussing the question of contesting the results of the elections," declared the ITC. In short, publishing preliminary figures does not end everything, perhaps on the contrary, everything is just beginning. As for the question of taking or not taking the mandates, it is exclusively a matter of political decision and can be discussed only from the point of view of forming a political crisis or the legitimacy of the National Assembly, but nothing more. According to lawyers, it does not change anything from a legal point of view. And then, that question can be discussed only after the final results are announced, because after appeals and disputes, they might be significantly different from what was announced last night.
