The university system of Armenia is declining year by year instead of developing. Both the number of students is decreasing and the ratings are not increasing.
There are different rating systems of universities in the world. For example, according to QS World University Rankings, only YSU was rated among RA universities, and in the lowest category, within the range of 1001-1200. According to these data, it becomes obvious that YSU has declined in the last 5 years, in 2022 it was among 800-1000, and in 2024 it occupied 901st place. This is the worst indicator among regional universities. To make it clear, let's note that the Iranian university, which has been under international sanctions for decades, Tehran University, for example, is 322nd in the world.
Three Azerbaijani universities were also rated: Baku University is 688th.
