Today, May 9, an accident took place in Ararat region. Around 18:00 in Artashat city, 57-year-old Liana A., a resident of Ararat region, ran over a 6-year-old girl with her BYD car.
As photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan reports from the scene, the driver did not run away, he alerted the ambulance and the duty team of emergency doctors promptly arrived and took the child to the "Artashat" medical center, from where he was taken to one of Yerevan's specialized hospitals by ambulance.
The operative group of the Artashat department of the Main Department of the Community Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, led by the duty officer of the day, also arrived at the scene of the incident.
The information about the incident was transferred from the Artashat department of the police to the Ararat regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, from where the investigative team headed by the head of the department Gagik Arakelyan, the deputy head of the department Nerses Muradyan and the investigator in charge of the day arrived.
According to the fact of the incident, a criminal proceeding was initiated in the investigative department, where the identity of the person who was hit was revealed.
On the instructions of the investigator, the car was moved to a special area guarded by the Artashat police department.
