Lionel Messi, the Argentine forward for Inter Miami, will not attend the 2026 Ballon d'Or award ceremony. This was reported by the Spanish publication Marca.

According to the source, the 39-year-old footballer does not plan to travel to London to participate in the event. The reason is his extremely busy schedule.

A few days ago, Messi traveled from the USA to Spain to receive the Princess of Asturias Award for his exceptional achievements in sports. After that, he returned to the USA and almost immediately took part in a match against the New York Red Bulls, in which Inter Miami lost 0-2.

The Ballon d'Or award ceremony will take place today, October 26, in London.
