The general secretary of "Lelo" Irakli Kupradze stated that the port, 49% of whose shares should be received by the Sino-Singaporean consortium, should be turned into the gateway to the Western world of the "Trump Road" (TRIPP), which, according to him, will bring security, Western investments and economic prosperity to Georgia. "The Trump Road" (TRIPP) is a transport corridor that connects Azerbaijan with Nakhichevan through the territory of Armenia (Syunik Marz). it was agreed in August 2025 with the participation of US President Donald Trump. We are talking about the 40-kilometer section, which involves the construction of roads and infrastructure and will be under the management of the USA and Armenia. Irakli Kupradze noted that after the agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8, 2025, with the mediation of the USA, an "important international transit route, named TRIPP" appeared in the Caucasus. "This route should not bypass Georgia, and its implementation is possible only through Anaklia. through the construction of the port, which will be the logical continuation of the "Trump path", he stated. The party believes that the port of Anaklia is "a large-scale initiative that fully corresponds to the strategic priorities announced by the US and President Trump's administration", so it should be implemented, rather than its imitation, Kupradze noted.
