The spokesman of the Israel Defense Forces, Colonel Avichai Adrae, issued a harsh statement, accusing the Lebanese armed forces of misleading and lying to the international community regarding the disarmament of Hezbollah. According to the Israeli military department, during the military operations that started on March 2, "Hezbollah" launched about 3000 rockets and other projectiles from the areas south of the Litani River.
The Israeli side reminds that on January 8 of this year, the Lebanese army officially announced the end of the first phase of the arms confiscation operation, claiming that it had successfully disarmed the zone south of the Litani River. However, according to Adrae, the data of the last days is the best proof that this statement was an open lie, and the implemented operation was a complete failure.
According to the representative of the Israel Defense Forces, this indicates the inability or lack of desire of the Lebanese state army to prevent the movement of "Hezbollah" fighters and weapons to the border regions. The Israeli side emphasizes that the maintenance of terrorist infrastructure in the area south of the Litani River remains the main threat to regional security.
