"Fact" daily writes: About a week ago, the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, signed a decree on a number of measures aimed at ensuring the development of the mining (metal ore) and metallurgical industry in that country. The rather extensive document states that the development of these sectors is of strategic importance for Azerbaijan from the point of view of diversification of the economy, deepening of industrialization, expansion of the export structure and acceleration of socio-economic development of the regions. By the way, special emphasis is placed on the mines of Artsakh, territories occupied by Azerbaijan.
We are talking about those mines that were not fully used by Artsakh at one time, in order not to cause damage to nature and to protect the environment. However, Azerbaijan, which itself causes the greatest environmental damage to the region, but has often accused Armenia and Artsakh of polluting the environment, has begun to pay incomparably greater attention to mining, mining and metallurgical industries.
For this, system programs are drawn up, global calculations are carried out, etc. Moreover, in the above-mentioned decree, some enterprises are even given serious privileges, and also declared "reparations" for their debts to the state.
And here in Armenia, which is already not very rich in mines, certain circles consider it their duty to constantly fight against the mining industry. It is enough to implement any initiative or program in the direction of the development of this sector, a great noise is raised. However, mining and metallurgy are a lifeline for the economy of our country.
