The Cuban Ministry of Interior announced that the second flight carrying 116 illegal migrants from the United States arrived in Havana on Thursday within the framework of bilateral migration agreements.
"On Thursday, February 19, a second flight carrying 116 illegal migrants (88 men and 28 women) from the United States arrived at José Martí International Airport," the Cuban Interior Ministry said in a statement published in the Cuban Communist Party newspaper Granma. According to the agency, as a result of this operation, the total number of people returned to the island in the first months of the year was increased to 302.
The first deportation flight from the USA to Cuba took place on February 9, with which 170 illegal migrants were returned.
Three of them were handed over to investigative bodies on suspicion of illegal activities.
