Steven Wittkoff, the special envoy of the US President, will visit Israel this week to hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the military leadership of the Jewish state. This was reported by the Reuters agency, referring to its sources.
According to the source, Wittkoff's visit to Israel should begin on February 3.
Yesterday, Reuters and The Jerusalem Post reported that at the end of last week, the Chief of General Staff of the Israeli Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, secretly visited Washington to hold consultations with the US military leadership.
According to the newspaper, during the visit, Zamir presented "highly sensitive intelligence information" to his American colleagues, as well as discussed "military options against Iran" and tried to influence the diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
On his return from Washington, the general met Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz and reported on the results of the visit.
