On February 1, an emergency occurred in Gegharkunik region. Around 10:30, the National Center for 9-11 Crisis Management of the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia was alerted that an explosion had occurred in one of the apartments of 55 Yerevanyan Street in Martuni.
"1 combat unit from the Martuni fire-rescue squad arrived. The patrols of the 2nd platoon of the 2nd company of the Gegharkunik Marz battalion of the RA MIA Police Patrol Service also arrived at the scene.
It was found that the explosion and collapse took place in the 18th apartment of the mentioned building due to a gas leak, as a result of which some of the windows and doors of the house were damaged and a part of the wall collapsed. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the explosion and collapse, according to preliminary information.
The officers of "Gazprom Armenia" and "Trans Gas" companies also arrived at the scene of the incident. The operative group of the Martuni Department of the Community Police Department of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs also arrived at the scene, led by the person in charge of the day.
