US President Donald Trump, who threatened to impose tariffs on countries trading oil with Cuba, intends to strangle the island's economy, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said.
"Under the untrue and stupid premise spread by those who engage in politics and enrich themselves at the expense of our people's suffering, President Trump intends to stifle the Cuban economy by imposing tariffs on countries that sovereignly buy and sell Cuban oil," he wrote on the X social network.
The Cuban president called the new US measures "criminal" and "fascist".
