Hürriyet: Turkey and Saudi Arabia can contribute to the settlement of Iran

Turkey and Saudi Arabia can contribute to the diplomatic settlement of the situation around Iran. This is the opinion expressed by Turkish pro-government Hürriyet newspaper.

"Iran is Turkey's most reliable neighbor and its stability is considered as Turkey's stability. A political solution to the Iran issue is still possible. Only Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan can get out of the impasse in which Iran has found itself. Turkey and Saudi Arabia can provide this," newspaper commentator Abdulkadir Selvi said in the publication.

He quoted the statements of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who called on the US not to repeat the experience of Venezuela in the case of Iran.

"I advise American friends not to turn Iran into a second Venezuela. Iran is ready for negotiations, but if they feel that they have been pushed into a corner, they will start preparing for the worst scenario," warned the Turkish minister.

Earlier, the official representative of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey, Omer Çelik, announced that Ankara is against any foreign interference in Iran's affairs. According to him, such steps can lead to extremely negative consequences.
