As a result of winter storms and freezing rain in Afghanistan, 61 people have died

Strong winter storms and icy rains have killed at least 61 people and injured 110 others in Afghanistan, the country's National Disaster Management Authority (Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority — ANDMA) said on Saturday.

"During the last three days, as a result of heavy rains and snowfalls in different states of the country, 61 people were killed, and 110 others were injured in various degrees," the department's press service said.

According to ANDMA, information about casualties and injuries was received from Kabul, Parwan, Panjshir, Bamyan, Daykundi, Maidan-Wardak, Ghazni, Herat, Ghor, Badghis, Faryab, Sari-Pul, Balkh, Samangan and Nuristan provinces.
