The Canadian authorities call on their citizens to leave Iran immediately through the land borders with Armenia or Turkey.
"You should immediately leave Iran right now if it is safe to do so. Many airlines have suspended flights to and from Iran, but it is possible to cross the border by land. Land borders with Armenia and Turkey are open, and Canadian passport holders do not need a visa to enter those countries," the statement said.
Ottawa noted that Canada's ability to provide consular services in Iran is currently extremely limited.
The US State Department made such a statement earlier.
