Armenia's public debt doubled, but no lasting value was created. Armine Ohanyan

Armine Ohanyan, editor-in-chief of "Hraparak" newspaper, writes: "One can list in 24 hours all the promises made by the people who came to power in 2018, and which, for reasons depending on them or not, they did not fulfill. We can go back further and remember what the leaders of the opposition KP and "Yelk" bloc accused the previous authorities of, and how now all of them, having boasted about one thing, are implementing it themselves. As they promised to free the public from fines and excessive financial burden, now they have doubled or tripled that burden.

How they gave examples from developed European countries, which have modest, restrained governments, and there are no "politicians", and how they became the government that made the most extravagant wastes in our history, and kept most of the bodyguards and "politics". What golden mountains they promised us, how they announced that the velvet, non-violent revolution has created such great confidence in the RA authorities that now the investments will flow in rivers to Armenia.

But instead of investments flowing to Armenia, Armenia's public debt doubled, and as a result, no lasting value was created, no production was established, no infrastructure of international quality was built, and poverty increased.

How they promised to coordinate everything with the people, to consult with the public on every issue, now we learn more about their decisions from the Azerbaijani press than from them. How they promised to establish institutions, but they created the most brutal governance pyramid, where everything is decided by one person."
