Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre expressed support for Denmark amid US threats to take control of Greenland for defensive purposes.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that the United States needs the control of Greenland for defense purposes.
"We definitely need Greenland. We need it for defense," he said in an interview with The Atlantic.
Trump is convinced that the island, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark, is "surrounded by Russian and Chinese ships".
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, for his part, emphasized that Greenland is part of the kingdom and called on the United States to stop the threats, stressing that there is no sense in Washington taking control of the island.
"Greenland is an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark. "Norway expresses full solidarity with the Kingdom," Støre wrote on his social media page.
