US Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced that Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were indicted in the federal court of the Southern District of New York. Nicolás Maduro has been charged with narco-terrorist conspiracy, conspiracy to import cocaine, illegal possession of machine guns and weapons of mass destruction, and conspiracy to possess machine guns and weapons of mass destruction directed against the United States. Soon they will face the full rigors of American justice on American soil, in American courts.
"On behalf of the entire United States Department of Justice, I want to thank President Trump for his courage to demand accountability on behalf of the American people, and also to say a big thank you to our brave military personnel who conducted this incredible and highly effective operation to arrest these two suspected international drug traffickers," he said.
