French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he had a private conversation with Vladimir Zelensky after attending a meeting between European leaders and US President Donald Trump.
"This evening I participated in the discussion with Zelensky and Trump, along with several other European leaders. Then I spoke with Zelensky," he wrote in X.
Trump hosted Zelensky on December 28 at his Mar-a-Lago estate near West Palm Beach, Florida. At the joint press conference held after these negotiations, the American leader admitted that the territorial issue remains unresolved in the Ukrainian peace process.
