The UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is not working to resolve the crisis in the country, Abd al-Hadi al-Huwayj, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the government in the east of Libya, told "RIA Novosti".
"We hope that the UN mission will really bring the points of view together, but unfortunately, the mission is not fulfilling its role. "Its job is to be an uncompromising mediator, bringing together different parties and trying to reconcile positions, but unfortunately it manages the crisis instead of working towards a solution," al-Huwaij said.
After the overthrow and assassination of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya ceased to function as a unified state.
