Reuters. "Turkey may get involved in a new crisis"

On December 22, a clash between Syria and the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDG) took place in the north of Aleppo, as a result of which at least 2 people were killed.

According to Syrian government sources, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yasar Güler and the head of the National Intelligence Service (MİT) Ibrahim Kalin had official contacts with the Syrian leadership before the sides clashed.

It is noted that the parties discussed the issue of involving the "SDG" in the Syrian army, which was considered the most important topic apart from bilateral relations and regional developments. During the talks, Fidan emphasized again that the organization does not intend to join the Syrian army, taking as a basis the fact that the latter are hesitating in this matter.

“Unfortunately, we see that the SDGs have no intention of making more progress. Here, of course, we also talked about their reasons," Fidan said in a statement made on December 22, while accusing the organization of coordinating with Israel, which, according to the latter, is a major obstacle in the Damascus-"SDG" negotiations.

Returning to the clashes of December 22, it should be noted that later the parties established a ceasefire, but the British news agency "Reuters" presented the scenario that could emerge if the "SDG" does not eventually join the Syrian army.
