Iran does not intend to sever relations with Russia at the request of Europe

Iran will not break friendly relations with Russia at the request of European countries, whose behavior is clearly destructive for the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghai.

"It is completely illogical to expect that every country that maintains relations with Russia and has established friendly ties with it, will break those relations because of European demands," he emphasized during the press conference.

According to Baghai, European countries should study their own behavior and analyze why the conflict in Ukraine arose.

"Before criticizing others, they should take responsibility for their actions and stop blaming others, because this approach does not contribute to solving the problem," said the Iranian diplomat.

On December 15, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Russia initially warned Europe about the causes and possible consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, but the West chose to ignore it.
