Thailand and Cambodia will start negotiations on establishing a ceasefire in the border conflict zone on December 24, Thai Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketakeu announced.
According to him, Thailand is ready to discuss the possibility of establishing a ceasefire with Cambodia.
"We welcome the resumption of dialogue on the establishment of a ceasefire. The negotiations will take place within the framework of the already existing Joint Border Committee." And this meeting is planned, according to the proposal of the Cambodian side, on December 24," he said, noting that the meeting of the Thai and Cambodian military is planned to be held in the Thai province of Chantaburi.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand emphasized that the agreement on the terms of the ceasefire can last "as long as necessary" for both sides.
